  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Implemented Track & Stack function in the AdditionFrames module -frame addition with given parameters (function Track & Stack).

    2. In viewer LookSky added function of a complex (full) processing zone using the CoLiTec. Connected to the console version "CoLiTec.exe". Complex frame processing includes: Filter - alignment background; coordinate reduction - permanent settlement plates; detection of moving objects; search for known objects in the database and identification of found and known objects.

    3. Designed ALM-fitting procedure compact groups of objects.

    4. All modules and personal digital libraries under-signed separately signed, completely filled with system information, as well as established unique icons launch.

    5. Designed installer different versions of the program, it also signed by and has the appropriate version information.

    6. Changed console application module intraframe processing POCLT.

    7. Created the possibility of using the internal database as intermodule interface project (working with markers and stellar catalogs).

    8. In interframe processing the maximum allowable speed for objects corresponding circular blobs,determined by the minimum duty cycle of by time between frames.

    9. VKCLT module increased degree of control of the computing process by the under identification of frames. If at least one frame will not identified - stop work module, the module interframe processing VOCLT will not run.

    10. Created module LitePO - console application for a "fast" fitting (han-dling 500 the brightest peaks) and identification of the frame with star catalogs.

    11. If the size of the field of view of the telescope more than 5 degree angle (the limit for the service MPC-checker) formed an integral request to the MPC-checker - inquiry, consisting of several queries off-center (Ra0 De0). Set of queries generated completely covers the field of view of the telescope.

    12. Updated forming system reports (in the IFA and other organizations). Added the ability to build a report measurements immediately after loading the review in LookSky, bypassing the process of individual sub-confirm the correctness of the user is automatically detected objects in the solar system.

    13. Improved logging system and a user interface, is implemented fully bilingual (Russian and English) in all elements and dialogs.

    14. Increased informative custom error messages when creating reports: Error messages are accompanied by reference to paragraph appropriate settings, where you can fix the not correct source data.

    15. Changed strategy of using windows LookSky: during long operations program can be minimized to the taskbar.

    16. Developed and implemented a new website project (third edition)

    17. Radically redesigned project documentation.

    18. An internal work on the program, optimized executable code, removed the detected errors, including those associated with memory leaks.

    Further ways of improving the program:

    1. Improvements online service frame processing СLT-Service.

    5. Introduced monitor messages as the centralized service for decision-making modules.

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. A module (HandFittCLT.exe) was developed for manual measuring of the objects with nonzero apparent motion seen on a set of frames. A corresponding user interface element is added to the viewer. Now, the viewer can also perform as an autonomous blink comparator.

    2. A new settings wizard is created. The wizard has a user-friendly interface, wider functionality, and provides the user with an ability to create or select a set of personal settings.

    3. The viewer methods of displaying the “turned over” frames are significantly improved, pictures and animations saving functions are updated, a function for selecting a coordinate system for mouse cursor position in the current frame is added.

    4. We improved the performance stability of OLDAS clones operating on virtual machines and dealing with external frames and catalogs files.

    5. Interframe processing module is improved

    6. Data download from photo catalog is more safe now due to the introduction of upload limitations

    7. The program is still being adapted for working with large fields.

    8. We switched to WCS data format, the constant plates are now displayed to the frames headers.

    9. Application internal structure was reviewed, the found mistakes are corrected

    The direction of the further application improvement

    1. The main goal of the CoLiTec 2014-summer development is the further development of the optic transient.

    2. Improvement of the CLT-SERVICE frames processing online service

    3. Development of the automatic application performance monitoring program (monitoring accuracy, correct detection). A report.

    4. Application reliability growth

    5. Development of LMA-procedure for objects compact groups fitting.

    6. Moving to DB in order to optimize the application work with the marks

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. There is a next version of the viewer LookSky v. 1.7.2.8 for visualization of astronomical images (FITS format) and for the results of their processing by the CLT program complex:

    1.1 The SRDolli module for repeated inquiries in the Internet service, reception and answers processing to them, identification of the accepted catalogs with results of work of the program is created.

    1.2 Support of the local shifts figuring from constant plates is brought in. The revision purpose is a more comfortable analysis of shots of wide – field telescopes like GENON for the observer in asteroid reviews.

    1.3 Support of shot turn with crops recalculation of a shot is introduced.

    1.4 Function of image saving is changed.

    2. Revisions of software of the publication of shots of observatory and use of the published shots of the other observatories within the IVOA standards are carried out.

    3. Work of the module of formation of the internal catalog of motionless objects is optimized.

    4. Possibility of delivery of coordinates of objects in the form of the weighed sum of estimates of provision of objects on a shot and the forecast of this situation on the basis of parameters LSM-leveled trajectory received at a stage of interframe processing is created. Extent of “mixing” is regulated by a baffle. The revision purpose is a passing of entrance control of МРС by wide – field telescopes like GENON while discovering objects interesting to mankind.

    5. The mode of detection of object on the 3rd marks in 4 frames on condition of existence of object of the internal catalog (object which the program recognized motionless on series of shots) in a vicinity of expected provision of a missing 4th mark is realized. The revision purpose is a more effective use of wide – field telescopes like GENON in asteroid reviews. The increase at 15% of supervision from ordinary telescopes with a field 100х100 angular minutes is expected.

    6 . The site crops module is completed.

    7. The median branch of the equalizer of shots for more adequate work with shots with a size more than 3200х3200 is completed

    8. Internal work with the program is carried out, the found errors are eliminated.

    Further directions of the program improvement:

    1. Development of a plug-in of search optical transients. = main task of development of the CoLiTec 2014 version winter

    2. Revisions of online service of shots processing of CLT-SERVIS.

    3. Creation of service of adaptive background transfer of shots from observatory to the server.

    4. Program revisions for its more effective work on wide fields.

    5. Continuation of development of the facilitated version of the program

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Developed plug-in for fast objects’ processing (objects with image blurred by their motion). Its testing and further improvement will increase the number of detected and observed NEO including potentially dangerous ones.

    2. New version of “LookSky” software for visualization of astronomic images (FITS format) and their processing results made by CLT software.

    New version of “LookSky” software includes:

    - display of objects from attached astro- and photo- catalogs;

    - display of navigation report for the objects identified with The International Variable Star Index database (variable stars);

    - display of navigation report for the objects identified with HyperLeda database (supernovae in these galaxies);

    Structured subsystems of user’s CLT results control and creation of corresponding reports. Now it’s possible to form the report at the stage of current area’s observation and separate objects’ observation (selected or marked);

    3. Created PUBLISHER – software giving the access to the astronomer’s frames collections. The access is based on Simple Image Access protocol developed within virtual observatory. The application is developed on Java programming language that’s why the application is easy to launch anywhere. This software has console-, window- and web-interfaces that allows an easy access (software-based or remote).

    The application demands:

    • Any operating system
    • PostGreSQL 9.2 DBMS for astronomer’s data storage (for Windows systems – included)
    • External access to the PC with publication.

    4. Updated software of the fast fitting.

    5. Updated modules of crop’s site.

    6. Testing of marks’ database.

    7. Updated GAMMA_CLT software.

    8. Inner updating of the software. Elimination of uncovered errors.

    Future updating:

    1. Development of a plug-in for optical transients search. (Main task for CoLiTec 2014-winter updating).

    2. Software tools updating for observatory frames’ publication and use of frames published by other observatories (IVOA standard).

    3. Updating of on-line service for frames’ processing CLT-SERVICE.

    4. Development of adaptive background frames’ transmitting from observatory to the server.

    5. Further updating and testing of the crop’s site.

    6. Further development of the software light version.

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Software “LookSky” development (instead of “ViewCLT”) for astronomic images’ visualization (FITS format) and its processing by CLT software.

    Its main priorities:

    • improved quality of FITS files’ display;
    • flex system of image’s adjustment (added zooming and rotating functions);
    • additional software tools for control of images’ display and saving full report for processed series of frames;
    • additional facilities for frame’s navigation;
    • function of selected area animated file’s creation (GIF format) for series of frames.

    We tried to economize resources’ use by a PC user – the software permits to view “big size” frames (700 MB and more).

    User interface updated – “LookSky” has a comfortable design and high usability.

    2. Track&Stack software created (light version): frames’ filtering, frames’ astro-photoreduction, centering, addition of frames with a set astronomical shift. This module is supposed to be used in semiautomated mode and is close to the corresponding observer’s APM.

    3. Extended filter’s functional FHF v.5.0 – new procedure of a frame’s background alignment by a median filter. Due to this procedure frame’s alignment can be reduced by tree times and permits to upgrade quality of frame’s background alignment on the edges.

    4. Developed software of the fast fitting. Due to the code’s optimization (quality loss-free) we can save time (by 5-7 times).

    New procedures of frame’s alignment and fitting reduced time spent for intraframe processing by 4 times and total time of the software’s processing reduced by 15%.

    5. Provided possibility to be used in UCAC4 as an astrometric catalogue.

    6. Provided possibility to use catalogues UCAC4, USNOB, SDSS8, NOMAD1 with an on-line uploading (you don’t have to store them on CLT-computer).

    7. Updated modules of crops’ site and OLDAS-CLT modules of interaction.

    Future updating:

    1. Development of software means for observatory’s frames publication and application of other published observatories’ frames according to IVOA standards.

    2. Updating and testing (for optical transients) of marks’ DB.

    3. Development of a module’s prototype for fuzzy objects’ processing (objects with a vague image on a frame because of their speed).

    4. Rise of fitting’s precision due to the more correct fitting of close objects.

    5. Development of the second version of frames’ processing software while detecting and estimating parameters of optical GRB afterglow.

    6. Updating of СLT-SERVICE (on-line service of frames’ processing).

    7. Development of frames’ adaptive background transfer from observatory to the server.

    8. Updating and testing of crops’ site.

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Development of a crops’ site has been done. Aim – comfortable remote work of observer (controller of OLDAS-CLT results) through channel with limited bandwidth. Site is adjusted for use with mobile devices. Several users can have an access at the same time; you can send both urgent and regular reports to the МРС.

    Now suspicious parts on OLDAS-CLT (CoLiTec) series of frames are stored together with some housekeeping data in a separate folder; its content is automatically uploaded to the site server and when the next series of frames with suspicious parts is fully loaded this crop-series is ready for blinking.

    Even if throughput of the channel is quite limited or you have a slow WiFi access – it will take some time to finish the download process but all the pictures, animation, blinking of suspicious parts will be offered in a comfortable for observer way.

    November lunation 2012 – crops’ site will start its pilot exploitation in ISON-NM observatory.

    2. Updated manual estimation of objects’ position.

    3. Updated procedure of marks’ formation for external photometric catalog of frames identification program – upgraded reliability for frames with large fields of view processing by the present software.

    4. Automatic sending off letters to MPC with processed areas and urgent sending off selected objects with high NEOCP rating to NEOCP.

    5. СLT-SERVICE – beta version of online-service for frames’ processing. At the present moment it’s passing a test stage. Using СLT-SERVICE you will have an access to the software without downloading it. You need only to install a light client that will bring the information to the server. Than the frames will be processed and you will get back the results of this processing on your computer. We also suggest creation of an intermediate version. In this case, half of processing will be done on the user’s computer and it will cut down amount of transmitted data.

    Further updating of the software:

    1. A prototype creation for fuzzy-objects’ processing module (objects with fuzzy picture on the frame because of their movement).

    2. New CLT- viewer.

    3. Creation of a light version of the software. It will add the following functions: Track&Stack, downloading of catalogs, etc. The light version will not permit online processing and will request bigger involvement of an operator during CCD-frames’ processing.

    4. Acceleration of fitting process with higher precision of its estimations.

    5. Updating and approbation of online-service for СLT-SERVICE frames’ processing.

    6. Creation of service adaptive background transfer of frames from the observatory to the server.

    7. Software tools for observatory frames’ publication and other observatories published frames’ use according to IVOA standards.

    8. Creation and approbation of database marks (for optical transients).

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Updated procedure of decision taking in detection of supernova in “SuperNova” module.

    2. Developed DelFits library for fits-frames’ processing on Delphi. Updated intraframe processing module for DelFits library permits to upgrade processing stability (creating of the list of hypothetic objects on the image); to save on disk processed images; to process, if needed, fragments of frames and not the whole frames.

    3. Developed and in testing – module of observations’ processing for gamma-ray burst optical afterglow “CLT-Gamma”. It includes: start program and computation paralleling (alerts, receiving via e-mail; data input; launch of software’s clones after the number of used CPU cores; monitoring of processing status); observations’ processing program (search for frames; frames alignment; frames stacking by different scripts; catalog formation for objects detected in different stacking scripts; search of objects corresponding to the afterglow; report generation; automatic report sending via e-mail); results viewer (permits to load different stacking scripts; store objects selected by the operator; view data display and approximating model).

    The present module was developed for ISON project and by mutual arrangement can be represented as its exclusive property.

    4. Connection of DBMS-program of fit-frames, stored in observatory’s computers. DBMS will be used for parameters’ detection and estimation of optical transients.

    5. Developed plugins for online astronomical catalogue base’s connecting: CDS_Vizier_NOMAD (access to NOMAD data) and CDS_Vizier_SDSS8 (access to SDSS DR8 data).

    6. Fixed different bugs.

    Software’s future updating:

    1. Improved modules of optical transients’ operations (console version creation).

    2. Ability to use NOMAD and SDSS v8 catalogs within the present project (for astrometry and photometry).

    3. Development of a new version of the viewer, to improve display quality for faint brightness objects.

    4. Integration of the procedure of automatic diurnal rotation breaks’ recognition with automatic offgrade frames’ screening.

    5. Software’s compensation of “ghosts” (afterglow from bright stars on previous frames remaining on current frames).

    6. Improving DBMS of fit-frames, stored in observatory’s computers.

    7. Updated module of automatic report e-mails’ sending.

    8. Creation of online service for astronomical images processing.

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Screening of abnormal measurements after detected objects.

    2. New selective indicator for false object – iteration number during its detection. If the number of iterations exceeds the set one, this object is considered to be false and stops being processed.

    3. The procedure of images’ calibration after service (bias, dark, flat) frames.

    4. Updated XPM catalogue.

    5. Dolly-plugin of loading data from HyperLeda galaxies’ catalogue and displaying them in results viewer.

    6. The procedure of SuperNova search of supernovas around galaxies.

    7. The latest version of CoLiTec software includes Pavel Pozdnyakov’s ConsolMail.exe program. It permits the sending/receiving data via e-mail.

    8. Updated smoothing images’ filter (up to 4.0 version).

    9. Upgraded intraframe processing permits to process frames of any size (the tests were on 14000х14000 pixels, more than 400MB, 8х8 degrees frames).

    10. The project now uses versions’ control system, assuring CoLiTec safety and simplifies interactions between present and future members of this project.

    11. The observations’ accuracy control-module permits automatic quality comparison of data processing with different versions of project.

    1. Further improvement of computational methods for signals’ parameters estimation (fitting).

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Improvement of algorithms of stars matching. From now on large-scale (galaxy) images are included in identification process; fixed matching errors on high declinations.

    2. Updated built-in Dolly-browser up to 2.0 version. The present version is more stable due to the improved browser’s engine. Fixed errors of NEO-rating output. This version permits to work with 400 connected clients.

    3. Now available manual parameters’ setting for catalog of motionless objects, permits user to set the parameters by himself.

    4. New VSX plug-in of Dolly-browser obtains known variable star’s data with display, navigation and saving report of discovered objects on the frame.

    5. Updated process of signals border (boundary) identification permits to specify initial parameters for fitting and upgrades accuracy of asteroids’ coordinates identification for 1/3.

    6. Modified OLDAS system:

    • added automatic frames sorting by zones and surveys according to such characteristics as date, frames bining parameter, used colourband;
    • updated display of vision processing state that indicates current state of processing (the quantity of processed frames, stage of inner-catalog formation, quantity of trajectories’ formation, area checked by the operator);
    • fixed errors, detected during operational testing.

    7. Creation of a “vision navigator” (menu in CLTView software) permits the operator to see the list of all areas of the specified catalog, instead of manual selection of frames in each area for trajectories observation. It simplifies loading of specified area (group of the frames) and control over areas’ processing state in survey.

    8. Updated marks indexing in preliminary tracks detection module permits to cut down time spent for calculation of “second processing” module (by 1.5-2).

    9. Updated fitting process for probability values’ tabulation permits to cut down time spent for calculation.

    10. Fixed different bugs.

    Software’s future updating.

    1. Further improvement of computational methods for signals’ parameters estimation (fitting).

    2. Correct addition and display of frames with a nonzero mutual turn.

    3. Development of an automatic discovery module for novas and supernovas.

    In future, due to the increase in the functional and program code, we plan to update the software 4 times a year (second month of each season).

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. The operational testing of OLDAS system that permits to treat observations close to a real-time scale. The main functions of this system are: automatic distribution of frames among series; several (local network) computers’ parallel treatment of frames. If these computers have multicores’ processors, OLDAS creates multithreads treatment of data on local network computers (quantity of threads depends on cores).

    2. Modification of interframe data procssing. The present modification improved the detection quality of objects with near-zero (about one pixel per frame) apparent movement.

    3. Updating of fitting software modules and modules of removing of defective pixels.

    4. Updating of manual measurements module.

    5. Capacity of series processing with a big quantity of frames (more than 50 frames).

    6. Development of a system for big size frames’ adjustment (up to 1 GB per frame).

    7. Fixed different bags.

    Software’s future updating

    1. Improvement of computational methods for signals’ parameters estimation (fitting).

    2. Correct addition and display of frames with a nonzero mutual turn.

    3. Start of a web-service development for the software application, permitting to process any quantity of frames.

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Frames’ addition now is possible without external star catalogue.

    2. Algorithm modification of threshold’s calculation for preliminary signals’ detection that now permits to detect fade signals around Milky Way.

    3. Modificated algorithm for inner catalog of fixed objects’ formation permits now to reduce 4-times formation period.

    4. Improvement of interframe processing’s algorithms for discovered objects’ speed range expansion. It permits to discover objects with speed of apparent movement that is up to 10’’/min (with a small quantity of false discoveries) on the 2’’/pixel frames with 20-30 minutes between frames periodicity.

    5. The present software now is able to work with star catalogue Tycho-2 that permits to identify wide FOV (more 5 degrees wide).

    6. Fixed different bags.

    7. The interface now is available in English.

    Software’s future updating

    1. Realization of generalized least squares (GLS) for astrometry of wide fields’ frames.

    2. Improvement of computational methods for signals’ parameters estimation (fitting).

    3. Improvement and exploitation of OLDAS system that permits to treat observations close to a real-time scale. The main functions of this system are: automatic distribution of frames among series; several (local network) computers’ parallel treatment of frames. If these computers have multicores’ processors, OLDAS creates multithreads treatment of data on local network computers (quantity of threads depends on cores).

    4. Modification of Anti-illegal Software Exploitation system.

    5. Improvement of frames’ adjustment by low-cut filter and intraframe (primary) processing to treat frames of different sizes (up to 1 GB per frame).

    6. Improvement of detection algorithm for objects with extreme-low (about one pixel per frame) apparent movement.

    7. Treatment of series with a big quantity of frames (dozens of frames).

    8. Correct addition and display of frames with a nonzero mutual turn.

  • Changes and additions of the CoLiTec software:

    1. Optimization of interactions between independent blocks of CoLiTec software and supervisor program.

    2. Thresholds’ coordinates for different stages of CoLiTec processing can be saved in a separate file.

    3. CoLiTec software is upgraded with matching algorithm, invariant with respect to axes orientation of frame’s coordinates system and camera’s rotation angle. That permits wide fields’ matching (for example 8х8 degrees).

    4. Results’ viewer is upgraded with a possibility to form tracks by an operator.

    5. Updated algorithm of image correction by a high-pass filter for big size frames’ processing (7000х7000 pixels).

    6. Introduction of new selective indications for observation’s scripts with frames’ addition 3+3+3 and 6+3.

    7. Elaboration of results’ viewer (based on ViewCLT results’ viewer) for frames obtained by a fixed telescope and processed by APEXII software suite. The present software has not only tracks’ view function but stars’ centering of frames obtained by a fixed telescope.

    8. Elaboration of a pilot version of software protection through hardware (electronic switch).

    Software’s future updating

    1. Expansion of detected objects’ velocity range (NEO reorientation)

    2. Elaboration of extended signals’ processing and their parameters’ evaluation (pilot version); other fitting’s updating.
