14th Ukrainian Conference on Space Research

14th Ukrainian Conference on Space Research organized by Space Research Institute of NASU-SSAU and the Institute for Electron Physics NASU have been held in Uzhgorod on September 8 – 12, 2014. 150 experts from leading scientific centres of Ukraine (SRI NASU-SSAU, LC SRI, Design Office YOUZHNOE, Main Astronomic Observatory, T. Shevchenko’s Kiev National University, Karazin’s Kharkiv National University, Lviv Polytechnics, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, etc.), representatives from Byelorussia, Poland and Slovakia participated in the event. The Conference was supported by State Space Agency of Ukraine and National Academy of Science of Ukraine.

CoLiTec and ACM’2014

From June 30 to July 4, 2014 in Helsinki (Finland) took place the 12th International Conference ACM’2014 (Asteroids, Comets, Meteors). The scale of the conference was really impressive. At the ACM’2014 was attended by about 500 scientists from 44 countries. Sokovikova Natalia, member of the CoLiTec group, presented a poster on the topic «Automated software for CCD-image processing and detection of small Solar System bodies». The report aroused great interest. It should be noted that interest in to the CoLiTec group representative been reheated by a huge number of papers devoted to the study of comet C/2012 S1 (ISON), which was discovered using the CoLiTec software by Vitaly Nevsky and Artem Novichenok on ISON-Kislovodsk observatory.

The CoLiTec project has presented the report on the Third Workshop on Robotic Autonomous Observatories

From 7 to 11 October 2013 was held the “Third Workshop on Robotic Autonomous Observatories” in Malaga (Spain). Alexander Bukhanko presented the report “Multifunctional CoLiTec application for automated execution of CCD frames” at that workshop. The report has aroused keen interest. It was devoted to the asteroid as part of our project and our program automatically detects the optical persistence of GRB. Unfortunately resources on the development of the last trend are very small.

The CoLiTec software presentation was presented at Asteroid Initiative Idea Synthesis Workshop in NASA

Vadym Savanevych successfully presented a presentation with the title «Software for processing asteroid survey frames. Status and initiatives (perspectives)» on September 30 at the Asteroid Initiative Idea Synthesis Workshop in NASA. You can view or download the presentation.

CoLiTec and Gaia-FUN-SSO 2012 Workshop

CoLiTec team member – Vadim Savanevich – together with Leonid Elenin attended Gaia-FUN-SSO 2012 Workshop in Paris. Elenin was representing ISON-NM observatory, its progresses and projects for 2 year period as well as CoLiTec (CLT) software, that awoke considerable interest among workshop participants.
During the workshop Vadim and Leonid had time to discuss future development of the project and possible ways of the software upgrade. They made a decision to create CoLiTec (CLT) light version and to develop a module for fast NEO treatment for the next six months.
